SYMPTOMS : As you know, and i know you know, Nicki Minaj released a new album friday and she revealed a new music video for the occasion. Same colours, same images, same design that's on Queen album cover. But what are the inspirations behind her new godess character. An Enigma for Dr. Octopus's clinical.

While Nicki new album just dropped last friday, she is now busy promoting her last project "Queen". After the creation of her own radio station, N.M disclosed a brand new video. The song honored is Ganja Burn. But a question persists. Why does Nicki chosed an Egyptian esthetic for her new era. Dr. Octopus investigated and here is the answer…

ANALYSIS : As you know, Nicki is one of the many aspirants to the rap female throne and every musical style has his master. If since the 80's rap is becoming more & more popular, during the 70's, the Disco completly reigned on the musical industry. And the Queen was nobody but Donna Summer. Between the album covers of the two singers, i can see some similarities ; very sexy poses, and elaborated typography and metallic colours as gold, silver or bronze. Ok, but it does'nt explain why Nicki chosed an Egyptian packaging for Queen's cover & Ganja Burn's video. Well, it's simple : kings of Disco were the Earth Wind and fire's musicians and on any cover of their albums there's pyramid and antic Egypt signs. 

DIAGNOSTIC : By calling her album Queen, the rapper want the world to know that is what she is. Disco referenced, the album cover and the Ganja Burn video proves she also know how to the take the best from the eldests who paved the way. She's decided not to be buried alive. But what is the major challenge of this E.P for the Australian rapper ? Does  Survive the summer  is meant to survive 2018's summer ?  Rewind. Remember 2014's summer. Work, Fancy & Black Widow broke every single record that year.The performer herself was the first white woman to mark rap history. But in reality Iggy Azalea did'nt really arrived at the good moment. Indeed this decade seen the Birth of a lot of afro american protest movements as well as artists partisanship as Beyoncé .  If Iggy really met success in a first time, it did'nt last very long. No it isn't a joke !!! Nicki Minaj new album dropped one week before it original  release date. 19 songs (it's a lot), quality duets ( Foxy Brown, Eminem, Ariana Grande, Swae Lee ). It looks good but does Queen worth it ? I've listened to all the songs, from the Bottom to the top and here is what i think about it. It's been four years since Nicki did'nt realeased a full body of work. Since the international success of Anaconda in 2014, the rapper's carreer stands still. Most of her projects have been scrapped, her singles flopped ( Barbie Tingz ) and the competition has became ferocious. While Iggy Azalea made a successful come-back with the Survive the summer E.P, Cardi B the rookie of the hip hop galaxy already touches the stars. For those who hibernate since last winter, Cardi B , it is gigantic hit songs ( I like it / Bodak Yellow / Be careful ), an album which changed the game ( Invasion of privacy ) and some cult duets ( Bruno Mars
